Roshild and Rolf´s Special Day
I first met Norwegian couple Roshild and Rolf at Beach House Marbella, Elviria just a few days before their wedding. They were such a lovely couple so I was looking forward to seeing them again and photographing their special day. They were to be married at the Iglesia Noruega el Campanario, Calahonda and then celebrations at the Beach House Marbella Elviria.
Below are just a few of my personal favourite images and the story of their day…
preparation
I met Rolf at the church as he greeted guests and after everyone had sat I went outside to ensure I would capture some images of the beautiful bride arriving. Roshild walked up to the church linking arms with her proud Father who continued to walk her down the aisle and to an obviously devoted Groom. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress with trail and a veil and Rolf looked spectacularly smart in his dark blue suit and matching tie.
Ceremony
The Groom was very smiley but emotional as his Bride walked nearer, she glanced at him and I could see that these two were connected without words. The glancing continued throughout the entire ceremony as they faced each other in the Norwegian way and there was the occasional smile of consent between them both where possible. There was some lovely readings by the bridesmaids and the guest then looked on eagerly while this lovely, fun loving couple went so serious to exchange their vows and some rings. They then sat together for the first time and a close friend played the cello, it was a lovely ceremony and definitely one that was just right for these two. They walked back outside and were congratulated by everyone for quite a while before getting in their car to relocate and celebrate their marriage further.
Reception
We headed to the Beach House Marbella where we had just enough time to capture some artistic beach portraits before the guests arrived and the congratulations continued again. Cocktails and canapés were served to all and we had time for a few more portraits before the women all grouped together on the beach and the lads took off their shoes to kick a football around. As the sun falls earlier during this time of year, we had to get a move on so as to get everyone seated for a meal, but I managed to quickly sneak in some sunset portraits.
Party
Unfortunately the Bride and Groom did not request evening coverage of their wedding day, but I’m sure they had a great evening.
A truly lovely couple who you can look at and plainly see that they are devoted to one another in a very special way indeed. I wish Roshild and Rolf every bit of luck and happiness that is possible, it was an honour to cover their photography needs.
