Katie and Huseyin´s Special Day

The Don Carlos Leisure Resort & Spa in Elviria, Marbella was the chosen venue of Katie and Huseyin for their special day. They were visiting Katie´s Auntie who was staying there and then when they saw it they knew it was the perfect venue for them.

I had spoken to Katie a couple of times before her wedding, and with her from my hometown in Essex we had things in common and clicked straight away, I was really looking forward to meeting her in person and capturing the day.

Katie accompanied by her bridesmaids got ready in their suite where they were staying at the Don Carlos. Spirits were high as I entered the room as Katie was having her hair and make-up done. After a few photo´s with the girls I headed over to the pool bar where Huseyin was waiting with his groomsmen to greet the arrival of his guests. After photo´s with the boys I returned to the girls who were now joined by the page boys who all looked so cute in their matching outfits. I left the girls and made my way down to the ceremony area set up in the grounds of the Don Carlos ready for the arrival of Katie. Huseyin waited nervously for the arrival of his bride and his face lit up when he saw his stunning wife to be, walking down the aisle to `A Million Years´ by Piano guy. The ceremony was full of emotion as Katie and Huseyin exchange vows that they had personally written and then were joined by their son Joshua as they all performed the blending of the sands ceremony.

After the ceremony Katie and Huseyin lead their guests to the upper terrace where cocktail´s and canapés were to her served. Everyone was having a great time and enjoying the beautiful weather. Before dinner was to be severed I took Katie and Huseyin for walk through the gardens for some portraits of just the two of them.

Once everyone was sat for dinner there were some funny but emotional speeches, it was clear to see how close everyone was. With everyone relaxed and enjoying the day a superb dinner was enjoyed and the children provided extra entertainment as they started of the dancing early with some great dance moves to their favourite songs.

Katie and Huseyin officially started the evening entertainment dancing with their first dance to `All of me´ by John Legend as the sun set and then continued the dancing joining in with he kids with their unique style of dancing.

Katie and Huseyin summed up their day as:

“Perfect! it was relaxed, intimate and emotional. A lovely mix of cultures with my being English and Huseyin being Turkish and getting married in Spain. There were tears, laughter and I even ended the night doing rollie pollies in my wedding dress on the dance floor”

This really was such a lovely wedding, a huge thank you to Katie and Huseyin and their lovely friends and family for making me feel more like a guest than their photographer.
